Vehicles and fleets

bewatt · display, fleet management and app for e-bikes

Starting point
bewatt develops and sells high-end e-bikes and pedelecs. They needed the electronics and software around the bike itself: their own display, a way to manage a whole fleet, and an app for the people riding them.
What we built
We developed the display together with a fleet-management system and its mobile app. Riding data, configuration and the link to the drive system all fit together, because the hardware, the firmware and the app came out of one development effort.
Outcome
A bike whose display, management and app were designed to work as one, instead of being stitched together from three separate suppliers.
Energy and battery systems

HDI Battery · battery management systems (BMS)

Starting point
HDI Battery builds batteries for a wide range of applications. Their packs needed battery management systems matched to their own cells and their own production line.
What we built
We developed the battery management systems: monitoring of voltage, current and temperature, the protection functions, and a design shaped around each pack rather than a generic template.
Outcome
BMS electronics tuned to real packs coming off the line, not to a datasheet.
Procurement

ZYON Helmets · procurement between manufacturer and engineering supplier

Starting point
ZYON develops smart motorcycle helmets that detect a crash and place an emergency call on their own, with a companion app. The build needed a specialised engineering supplier, and someone in the middle to run the procurement.
What we built
This was a procurement-engineering role. We sat between ZYON and their engineering supplier, aligned the requirements and specifications and kept the schedule honest, while the helmet development itself stayed with the supplier.
Outcome
One point of contact across the handover between client and supplier, instead of friction wherever the two sides met.
Environmental and infrastructure sensing · in development

Telemetry for autonomous streetlights

Starting point
Autonomous streetlights sit where nobody walks past every day, so whether they are working is something the operator normally learns from a complaint.
What we built
We are building a telemetry system for their operating state, energy data and faults, all readable remotely without sending anyone out to check.
Outcome
In development. We will add photos and figures once the system is out in the field.

Autonomous firefighting ground vehicles (UGV)

Starting point
Not every seat of a fire is something a fire truck can reach, so a ground vehicle that can be driven in remotely, or drive itself, can go where it is too dangerous or too tight for people.
What we built
We are building unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) for firefighting: remotely operated and autonomous, carrying their own telemetry and their own extinguishing agent, so they do not depend on a truck alongside them.
Outcome
In development. More to show as soon as we can.
